Adoption Rate in Freefall

Thirty-five years ago there were almost 10,000 adoptions in Australia. Last year there were just 568.
The vast majority of children adopted last financial year - 71 per cent - came from overseas. Most were Asian - 31 per cent came from China, 20 per cent from South Korea and 11 per cent from the Philippines.
